Technical Consultant - NetApp with EMC Isilon - L4

• This role will be primarily focused on delivering a BAU / Project services within a shared service delivery model.

What you’ll do

• Perform a range of technical work activities remotely to meet business and customer requirements
• Escalate issues in line with company processes to ensure customer demands are met
• Able to communicate on issues to meet business and customer requirements to avoid escalations
• Provide customer service to internal and external customers to ensure consistent experience
• Ability to adapt quickly to dynamic team environments to maintain consistent effective contribution
• Ensure Department/Contract meets SLA performance targets
• Maintain and improve customer satisfaction levels
• Understand and adhere to policies and procedures
• Keep skills up to date with IT industry standards as appropriate to the role/contract.

What you’ll need 

• Experience with 8 to 13 years in NetApp, EMC ISILON , Pure, Brocade
• Ticket tool: BMC
• Monitoring: INCINGA
• Many years of experience in the administration of storage systems in the enterprise environment NetApp, EMC ISILON, , Pure, Brocade
• Confident handling of management console and administration tools of storage systems (+++)
• Experience in monitoring storage systems (+++)
• Good knowledge of SAN (++)
• Relevant vendor certifications
• Experience with multi-vendor storage systems
• Systems:
• NetApp FAS A300, 8200
• NetApp FAS 8020, 8040, 2750, 2554
• ISILON H400 , H500 , F800,F810
• Brocade DS 300 5100B switch Pure system.
• Configuration of smart Quota and Smart connect
• Architecture of EMC Isilon and configuration
• NAS/SAN storage provisioning and troubleshooting
• Perform level 3/4 Troubleshooting issues on Isilon and Netapp.
• Strong understanding of VMWARE , Linux and Windows.
• Configuring volumes , cifs , nfs volumes and luns using command line and GUI on Isilon and Netapp.
• Perform Troubleshooting on performance related issues and replication backlogs.
• Monitoring of operational data (e.g. monitoring data, log files) and initiation of preventive measures to maintain the operation of the systems
• Implementation of measures to secure, control and optimize operations.
• Coordinate with Vendor for Hardware replacements and Upgrades and Carrying out scheduled maintenance work (e.g. firmware/ontap updates)
• Perform Maintenance related activities and coordinate with multiple teams during Major upgrades and Hardware replacements
• Upgradations & Migrations experience in Isilon and Netapp and DR Activities planning and execution experience.
• Managing and Configure policies , Local replication, remote Replication, schedules and local snapshots
• Managing Volumes , Quotas, QTree.
• Identifying and rectifying faults, as well as 2nd/3rd level support
• Configuring Backup and Archiving methodologies in ISILON
• Patch management
• Developing and implementing proposals and solutions for monitoring and optimizing ongoing operations
• Ongoing reporting of agreed key figures (e.g. utilization, performance, availability, storage space utilization)
• Extensive knowledge on Netapp Metroclusters and Netapp snapvaulting.
