Job Summary
The Technical Analyst – Asset Management is responsible for managing IT assets across their lifecycle while aligning with ITIL best practices. This role ensures accurate asset tracking, compliance, cost optimization, and seamless integration with IT service management processes such as incident, change, and configuration management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets (hardware, software, licenses, cloud resources).
- Maintain and update the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) with accurate asset and configuration data.
- Support ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management.
- Track asset procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and organizational policies.
- Conduct regular asset audits and reconciliation activities.
- Collaborate with IT, procurement, finance, and vendors for asset management activities.
- Analyze asset usage and recommend optimization strategies (cost reduction, license optimization).
- Generate reports and dashboards on asset inventory, utilization, and compliance.
- Support automation of asset tracking and reporting processes.
- Assist in onboarding/offboarding processes related to IT assets.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM) or IT Service Management.
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes and lifecycle.
- Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, etc.
- Familiarity with CMDB concepts and configuration management.
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
- Understanding of software licensing models (OEM, subscription, SaaS).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL certification (Foundation or higher).
- Experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) tools.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) asset tracking.
- Familiarity with IT compliance and audit requirements.
- Experience with automation and workflow tools.
