Computacenter GIS business unit is seeking a confident and experienced Datawarehouse professionals, to bring maturity to their existing approach.  The ideal candidate will have broad experience in Datawarehouse technologies and can create a plan to deliver improvements then execute against the plan.

Good communication skills and relationship building will enable the candidate to excel at the role, build a culture of strong team and advance their career within Computacenter.

 

What you’ll do

  • Manage, develop and coach team of line or functional managers and implements performance management solutions where required.
  • Develop, motivate and coach team to ensure the delivery of function and business targets.
  • Set objectives on a team in individual level to support delivery of functional area.
  • Manage the overall staff skills mix against function’s requirements, ensure skill coverage is sufficient at all times.
  • Support and manage assignment of team resources to operational, support and project.
  • Contribute to business strategy (within own department) and prioritise projects and objectives accordingly in line with agile team mythologies.
  • Understand overall departmental goals and priorities; ensure project plans and services are aligned. Identify new opportunities within the business and develop service offerings of the functional area.
  • Managing overall customer expectations and ensuring key commitments, esp. service levels and project scopes, are met.
  • Act as a point of contact for escalation.
  • Own complex operational issues and provide appropriate support to other functions/managers.
  • Ensure that the key requirements for significant initiatives are clearly articulated.
  • Take accountability for the delivery of significant projects/deliverables to defined targets.
  • Ensure solutions are delivered that are consistent with the IS best practice and architecture.
  • Establish engagement models and processes to prioritise and control initiation of work and progress.
  • Sponsor and approve internal projects e.g. process improvement and methods.
  • Establish productive relationships and networks at senior management level to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Ensure the functional area works in accordance with Computacenter Information Security Policies and implement a management system to make sure security controls are effective.
  • You will guide your team on technical questions and advise on best practise.

 

What you’ll need

  • Proven track record of experience of working in an international, commercially challenging environment.
  • Experience of functional area’s lifecycles, methodologies, tools and techniques.
  • Experience of developing best practice policies and procedures for functional area.
  • Dealing with and influencing multi-tier management
  • People Management and motivation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience to manage line and virtual teams.
  • Coaching and people development experience and skills.
  • Change management skills.
  • Risk analysis techniques.
  • Technically oriented training and/or a corresponding degree, e.g. in (business) informatics with experience of 10+ years in BI Domain.
  • You enjoy playing a decisive role in shaping the future of your team as well as the group-wide reporting platform.
  • You assist as a technical mentor and will help to achieve professional goals of your team members.
  • You are familiar with communication methods in business, approaches to writing technical design documents and presentation skills.  
  • More than anything you will have a passion for data and the potential it holds, a keen eye for detail and a drive to immerse yourself in and learn from an accomplished company that invests in future talent.
  • Skills needed Microsoft SQL Server Stack –Integration-SSIS and  T-SQL programming, ETL knowledge, SSDT / Git / Visual Studio experience, SSAS (Tabular), DAX, Power BI knowledge.
  • Very good English skills, strong communication skills on all levels and ideally experience in working with international teams.
