Life On the Team

Our key purpose is to drive Computacenter’s operational delivery capacity and productivity by developing internal systems around the existing Enterprise Systems and Datawarehouse. Our team consists of developers and business analysts who work with internal teams to encourage teams to systemise processes and workflows.

What you’ll Do

• We take the business requirements of our internal customers and turn them into robust solutions, working collaboratively with governance, compliance, operational management and users.
• We design, develop, integrate, test and implement (zero touch) solutions and improve / change as required when the needs of the business change. Some of our solutions work for over a decade in the company providing constant return in terms of efficiencies, auditability and scale for further business growth.
• In this role you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting Delivery operations processes in various departments and parts of the business.
• As “Developer”, you will be supporting the Business Analyst who will frame the business requirements and design the system to the requirements of the business. The Business Analyst, will be working closely with you, providing standards and specifications for development of the system.
• Develop forms for data capture and process workflows
• Write logic for automation of business rules in SQL Stored procedures and views
• Integrate data with data from other systems to create seamless integration using SQL SSIS scripts
• Ensure appropriate checks and error messages for users of the system to maintain accuracy and coherence of the data

What you’ll Need:

• Experience of creating applications with Microsoft Excel with SQL backend
• Using advanced Microsoft Excel functionality:
  • Standard code libraries
  • Writing complicated algorithms and calculations
  • Working with VBA:
    • Classes
    • Userforms
    • Functions
    • APIs
    • Calling SQL stored procedures
• Experience of using multiple development environments (DEV, UAT, PROD)
• Proven experience of working with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 & SSMS
  • Creating and Maintaining Tables:
    • Cascading Relational Tables
    • Schemes
    • Foreign Keys
    • Indexing
    • Standardised naming conventions / datatypes
  • Creating and maintaining Stored Procedures
    • Specifically using the below SQL functionality / syntax:
    • XML
    • Merge, Update, Insert, Delete, Select statements
    • Joins
    • Input / Output parameters
  • Creating and maintaining Views
• Analytical mindset
• Able to prioritise their workload and act under own initiative to meet business deadlines
• Able to express complex problems in a simple to understand way
• Agile methodology (would be an advantage)
