What you’ll do

  • Supporting Lead Project Managers and also managing smaller/less complex assignments or work streams on larger projects and programmes for external or internal customers.
  • Be conversant with and adhere to our methodologies for delivering Professional Services engagement outcomes to our customers.
  • When engaged in Pre-Sales, support the LPM to define scope, agree requirements, produce the cost model and plans and produce a Statement of Work or provide assurance for others, whilst following the correct governance and approval processes.
  • Maintain and/or create the Project Plan.
  • Run, contribute to, or support the LPM in delivering initiation Workshops.
  •  Manage the assignment in line with financial rules and commitments.
  • Create/contribute to ensure all relevant documents, tools and logs are stored on the Customer site and are up to date to enable central reporting.
  • Create, or help deliver Product Descriptions (PDs) for key project deliverables which are normally defined in presales, but you will need to understand the requirements and outcomes.
  • Manage/enable the identified project resources (direct, matrixed via ISPs or third parties) necessary to deliver the agreed products/deliverables in the required timescales.
  • Prepare and deliver (or contribute to) project Highlight or Checkpoint reports and participate in reviews with customers and the project team.
  • Ensure all relevant documents, tools and logs are stored on the Customer site and are up to date to enable central reporting.
  • Regularly update all stakeholders and your team on progress against plan, or support the LPM, by use of project Highlight or Checkpoint reports and participate in reviews with customers and the project team, as required.
  •  Manage (or contribute to managing) risk, issues and dependencies and maintain the project risk, issue and dependency registers on the Customer site. Take or support mitigation activities to reduce risk and resolve issues. Understand the impact of any issue on other projects or activities. o Manage or support escalations to resolution.
  • Support the management of third party and delivery teams, ensuring they meet their obligations in accordance with the approved Statement(s) of Work (SoW).
  • Keep Computacenter Partner Management informed of sub-contractor performance, as required.
  • Support positive recognition and/or interventions for your team members/colleagues and work with/support the Assignment Leader(s) where improvements are necessary.
  • Contribute to/attend Project Boards, as required.
  • Have a working knowledge of Internal Service Providers and what services they provide in support of any project you are managing/delivering.
  • To be engaged with other areas as required, including Consultancy, Engineer ng (TRG), Group Managed Services (GMS), Service Management   and the sales team.
  • Project Management throughout the life cycle
  • May provide remote support to a project team from the CPMO
  • Act in accordance with Computacenter Information Security Policies and report any potential or actual Security events or other Security risks to the organisation.

What you’ll need

  • 10 to 12 years of experience.
  • Trained in Project Management, for example Prince2, to Foundation level and working towards a Practitioner qualification or equivalent, Agile techniques.
  • A demonstrable track record of delivering successful project outcomes.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Aware of the need to be Emotionally Intelligent, to adapt personal style and approach to meet customer needs.
  • Be able to understand the Business outputs required from your assignment.
  • Skilled user of Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Project and other relevant tools.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
