Life on the team

The Cyber Remediations Lead plays a vital role in supporting cybersecurity capabilities by providing oversight on critical issues.

What you’ll do

Insight and Remediation Management (80%)

  • Maintain and Update Remediation Plans: Support cybersecurity improvements with plans to mature their CMMI levels, by working closely with the Cyber Strategy Portfolio Manager to identify future initiatives and drive outstanding remediation actions to enhance security posture.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Identify gaps in processes, report, and drive changes to enhance security posture and cross functional support.
  • Drive Security Remediation: Bring security capabilities together to collectively and actively drive security change.
  • Manage Questionnaires: Oversee all security questionnaires in support of customers and new bids. Exploiting automation and AI tools.
  • Performance Reporting: Track and report on remediation, with insights into their effectiveness and alignment with NIST and strategic goals.
  • Issue Identification: Lead the identification and assessment of cyber security issues across capabilities.
  • Issues Inventory Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of cyber issues requiring remediation.
  • Collaborate: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective remediation, especially for actions spanning multiple capabilities.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure all remediation efforts comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Progress Reporting: Monitor and report on the progress of remediation activities to senior management.
  • Post-Remediation Reviews: Conduct reviews to ensure the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • KPI Development: Develop KPIs to measure the effectiveness of remediation efforts.
  • Regular Updates: Provide regular updates and insights on the status of remediation efforts to the Head of SMO.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation for remediation processes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team providing support to security capabilities through task management.

Business Engagement and Collaboration (20%)

     •   Central Repository: Collaborate to ensure actions are gathered in a central repository and remediations are undertaken.

     •   Communication: Ensure all cyber security capabilities are communicated through reporting and outcomes.

     •   Coordination: Bring together teams to collectively address identified connected cyber-related issues.

     •   Maturity Plans: Work with the Cyber Reporting & Insight Manager to identify plans for each cyber capability to support their maturity.

     •   Compliance: Implement a mechanism to continually obtain information from security capabilities to validate their compliance with CMMI levels.

What you’ll need

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in an Information Security / Cyber Security function.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiar with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to cybersecurity reporting.
  • Experience in managing and analysing large data sets, preferably using data visualisation tools.
  • Experience of managing large-scale remediation projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Power BI
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong people leadership skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Awareness and understanding of GIS operating model.
  • Awareness of GIS adopted frameworks and processes including ITIL, SAFe, DevSecOps, etc.

Key Competencies (SFIA Codes and levels where applicable)

     Information security SCTY.

Key Technical Skills (SFIA Codes where applicable)

  • Cybersecurity frameworks inc. NIST CSF, and Secure Controls Framework SCF.
  • Knowledge of Information security standards such as ISO27001

Leadership Requirements

  • Be Collaborative –Maintain strategic and collaborative relationships with all divisions and teams across the Group, and within GIS CISO, BSIO GRC.
  • Performance monitoring of cyber related issues to ensure effectiveness of remediation.
  • Lead and manage a team supporting the cyber security functions with task management Other SFIA codes and levels where applicable.
