As the Delivery Director – Datacenter & Cloud, you will be at the heart of our global IT infrastructure strategy, leading a talented team of cloud, datacenter, and platform specialists. You will work closely with the Technology Office, Cybersecurity, and product teams to shape the future of our cloud first landscape. Your team will look to you for clear direction, leadership, and coaching as we navigate emerging technologies and evolving business needs.
You will own the technical relationship with senior stakeholders, translating complex concepts into business value and ensuring our cloud and datacenter services deliver exceptional outcomes, stability, and security. You will foster an environment of continuous improvement, high performance, and integrity—where teams are empowered, aligned, and driven by customer-centric delivery.
What You Will Do
Strategy & Architecture
- Develop and implement a forward-looking datacenter and cloud strategy aligned with business needs.
- Define and maintain a 3-year roadmap for cloud and datacenter adoption, investment, and optimisation.
- Identify new services and ensure service catalogue accuracy, including lifecycle management (refresh or retire).
Governance, Standards & Policies
- Establish standards, policies, and procedures for design, build, test, implementation, and operational use.
- Guide product teams and provide oversight on SaaS adoption and governance.
Delivery Leadership
- Sponsor and drive execution of initiatives, ensuring delivery to expected time, cost, and quality.
- Enable and push forward adoption of DevSecOps principles and agile ways of working.
- Guide project teams through planning, design, build, test, implement, and early-life support phases.
Operations & Service Management
- Ensure the owned services operate at expected SLAs, performance, security, and cost benchmarks.
- Collaborate with release & change management to ensure zero unplanned outages.
- Lead incident, problem, and event management to minimise service disruptions within the area of responsibility.
- Manage third-party providers for delivery, contractual compliance, and value for money.
- Monitor, optimise, and report on performance and capacity.
- Drive cloud utilisation optimisation and responsible adoption across the enterprise.
- Ensure robust asset and configuration management.
- Promote knowledge capture and sharing across teams.
Security & Compliance
- Partner with Cybersecurity to protect cloud and datacenter platforms from threats.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and industry standards (GDPR, ISO 27xxx, NIST, PCI DSS).
Leadership Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to a team of specialists across a matrix organisation.
- Own the business interface, building credibility with senior stakeholders.
- Drive clear, consistent communication across the department.
- Ensure alignment with the design authority and IT operating model.
- Uphold high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, and customer service excellence.
- Demonstrate resilience, priority-setting, organisational excellence, and problem-solving capability.
What You Will Need
Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of IT operating models.
- Proven experience with ITIL, SAFe, DevSecOps, and related frameworks.
- Expertise with operational tooling such as ITSM, monitoring, AIOps, and alerting systems
- Deep understanding of:
- Cloud concepts (XaaS, private vs public cloud)
- Cloud architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards are an added benefit.
- GDPR, ISO 27xxx series, NIST SP 800-144, PCI DSS, etc.
- Experience leading hybrid cloud and datacenter environments at scale.
Leadership Skills
- Ability to lead teams with clarity, direction, and purpose.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills—translating technology into business language.
- Experience managing budgets or P&L contributions.
- Ability to drive urgency, decision-making, and customer-centric delivery.
