Consultant (Data Center Delivery)

About the role
As a Computacenter Consultant, you will assist in providing transformative technology solutions for the most visionary companies in the world. Along with designing and implementing single and multi-vendor technology solutions. You will have the opportunity to work within an industry-leading sales and technical sales team to understand our clients’ needs and craft sustainable roadmaps to achieve their goals. This role has a data center focus and requires travel.

 

What you'll be doing

  • Partners with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.
  • Act as a technical lead in technology solutions by doing the following:
  • Mentoring other Engineers.
  • Lead a team of resources on larger projects.
  • Review the deliverables of other Engineers, as appropriate.
  • Act as a point of escalation.
  • Present technology topics at internal education sessions, and industry user group meetings and/or conferences.
  • Be regarded as a thought leader by recommending new technologies, best practices and tools that support the growth of the business.
  • Ability to assess Customer environment and make design and solution recommendations.
  • Act as liaison between Pre-Sales and Delivery teams.
  • Provide design, deployment, and implementation services of single or multi-vendor solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot multi-vendor issues.
  • Be current with vendor offerings and technology.
  • Be available to meet the customers IT needs.
  • Achievement of utilization targets.
  • Embrace and support Computacenter’s mission and core values.

 

What you have

  • 10+ years of professional experience in large enterprise data center environments
  • Professional certifications a plus (Cisco, Arista, Juniper)
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Solid understanding of data center technologies including rack integration, cabling, fiber, transceivers, power balancing, and cooling.
  • Subject matter expert within your focused technology stack.
  • Ability to design complex multi technical solutions and provide input into bid, project and technical documents.
  • Broad knowledge of the business benefits that technical solutions can provide.
  • Ability to lead and organize a large virtual technical team, with good negotiation skills and people management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present in a group setting.
  • Demonstrated confidence to deliver customer-facing discussions.
